My Story
I thought I had done everything right. I had the career and I was successful on paper with a life I thought was secure. On the outside, it looked like I had it all together. But on the inside, I felt empty and unfulfilled. I was drinking a bottle of wine a day and more on the weekends to numb the pain and fill the void. For years my body had been sending me messages and I responded by trying to fix her. I didn’t understand that these messages were all signs trying to guide me back to my soul. So I kept busy pushing, numbing and working hard to live up to all the expectations of who I thought I should be.
Until one day… when my body stopped me in my tracks. On December 22, 2010, I had a paralyzing stroke. That day my life changed forever. In an instant, everything I thought I had figured out crumbled into a heap of confusion and uncertainty. My life stopped and I was forced to stop avoiding and go within, into the depths of who I was to gather strength, resilience, and the belief that somehow I would get through this.
What I couldn’t see then was that this ending was also a beginning. The stroke became the doorway into a “new me” I never knew was possible—one of more joy, more adventure, and more ease. It stripped away what no longer served me and opened me to a slower, more soulful way of living.
That journey eventually led me to sell everything I owned, move to Mexico, and create the Mariposa House of Metamorphosis—a place where women like you can come to reconnect with their soul, cross the sacred threshold of becoming, and step into the life they were always meant to live.
This is why I do this work. Because I know what it’s like to lose everything you thought was safe, and I also know the extraordinary beauty that waits on the other side.
